What are better – metal amalgam fillings or white composites fillings?

Composite fillings are bonded to the tooth and provide support and strength. Amalgam fillings are not glued to the tooth so involve more cutting of healthy tooth to provide retentive features so they don’t fall out.

What fillings do you use?

We as a practice have made the decision to only use white composite fillings, we do not have or use metal amalgam fillings on any of our patients. Besides a white composite filling is environmentally friendly and more aesthetically pleasing!

The staff are friendly, helpful and give good advice. Laiba (Hygienist), Hana (Hygienist) and Dr Ross Hepton (dentist) have provided good service for me today and in the past and other hygienists were good too and I rarely see the Dentist as a result. I would recommend them as where I went many years ago was nowhere near as good.

I recently visited The Dental Practice for a tooth cleaning, which was recommended to help stabilise my tooth in preparation for root canal treatment in a couple of months. Aisha was excellent—she was caring, professional, and explained everything clearly throughout the procedure, which really put me at ease. Sajida was also wonderful and made the visit even more pleasant by being so friendly and playful with my 7-month-old son. I have had a very pleasant experience as an overseas patient with Dr. Ross and this clinic. He carried out a root canal treatment on my tooth, which unfortunately later developed complications despite the odds. What stood out to me was how professionally and fairly the situation was handled. Had my usual check up today and it went smoothly and on time.. Dr Ahmad is a brilliant dentist , always friendly and polite. I was also seen by the hygienist . She was such a lovely lady and her assistant was also friendly and smiley.
